I really don't remember exactly when or how I met coach Menachem Brodie, but I think we were either both giving some advice on Facebook or possibly both making fun of bad advice! Coach Brodie is a lot nicer and more professional than me, so it was probably the former. Either way, we hit it off quickly over our shared interest in strength training for endurance sports. We communicated a few times and before long he was kind enough to invite me to be the first guest on his new (at the time) podcast, The Strong Savvy Cyclist & Triathlete Podcast.

I'm perfectly ok knowing that I was his warm-up / practice guest, haha! Most people don't enjoy hearing their voice on recordings, now just imagine having to re-listen to a whole podcast of yourself - it's rough! I can definitely hear the nerves in my voice on this one and would love to get another swing at a few questions, but fortunately Menachem gave me that chance for a repeat episode. Thankfully I didn't know how many big names would be showing up within a few episodes or I'd have been even more nervous!

If you want to hear from the big-name experts, check out his episodes with Tony Gentilcore, Dean Somerset, Dr. Stu McGill, Selene Yeager, Dan John, and many others.

We spend a lot of this episode discussing our PR Running class (called Power Running at the time of recording) and the why, what, and how of what we do. I really appreciate Menachem giving me a chance to talk about helping runners. I'm always pleasantly surprised to be interviewed and not just asked about specific running injuries, but Coach Brodie is smart enough to know that intelligent training, strength training, and improving mechanics will help treat and prevent many more injuries than zeroing in on a few problems.

And just so you know, Menachem's love language is gift-giving, and this wonderful guy sent me great gifts after our podcast and also when he heard that I was having hip surgery. He also strongly encouraged me to start my own business & gave me a ton of great advice (and another gift) to help get started.  I'm forever grateful for you Coach!

Thanks and Happy Running!
